Can I get sick from someone that doesn't have a sickness yet but will soon?

Can I get sick, because my friend's mom I think has a sickness and my friend says she hasn't come in contact with any of her virus but she still doesn't know if she will get it and I have come in contact with my friend but I am washing my hands alot just incase she ame in contact with the virus. If she has it in her system but It is not showing and symptoms and I have come in contact with her ( but like I said I have been washing my hands often) will I get it.
