Who knows how to burn a PC game onto a DVD to play?

I have the a Sims 2 stuff pack (Mansion and Garden) installed on my computer. The disk is broken but i cannot play my Sims 2 game without that disk...i have tried running the game with all my other expansion packs. I have tried burning the games files onto a dvd..it says burn sucsessful but when i try to play the game with it the disk does not spin or my computer wont read it...it will say please insert Sims 2 Mansion and Graden Stuff Pack...why wont it read the dvd and let me play the game. Im afraid to uninstall it cause it may affect my game and i cant get in the ame to save it!!! HELP!!
